at the present situation. The infrastructure for oil/coal is in place. The gov't subsidies are in place. .... But if one looks to the future, we have to change. We used to have the largest supply of easily accessible oil in the world. This is no longer true. We used to have control over the mid-east. This is no longer true. We have acted like the world oil supply was unlimited. This was never true. Change will be hard, but at some point we would be wise to put our money elsewhere. That point was about 40 years ago, during the first oil crisis. Had we been wise, and as a nation started investing in gradual change to other energy forms, we would not be in this mess today.
